  2010 District Convention - Some Thoughts on the Sunday Afternoon Session

  out of a sense of morbid curiosity, i recently attended the sunday afternoon session of the district convention.

  the session consisted of a drama and the infamous "remain in the secret place of the most high" talk.

  overall, i got a sense that the wts is in damage control mode because the end hasn't come yet.

  Kind of funny really. Same message one group sees as "the end is SO close now!", another group sees as delaying "the end", say 40 years or so. Just funny that's all.

  yes, friends, this is another thread about the latest generation teaching.

  so, if you're sick to death of it, leave now, save yourselves.... anyhoo... as the wts has now unleashed on the world the true explanation of generation and what it means for those of us in this time of the end, dubs who accept without question this teaching are 'oohing' and 'ahhing' as the new explanation 'makes so much sense now'.

  when you flick the switch to turn your lights on at home don't they instantly come on at the full brightness?

  Nope. CFL's. "New Lights" Which only gives the WT a new angle. "Just as newer technology allows CFL bulbs to burn brighter (after an appropriate warm up time) and with less energy wasted, so we too....."

  i've complained before about the stuffy signage in assembly halls.

  with the help of modern technology, i've managed to capture some original images.. .

  "please ensure door is tightly closed at all times" - note use of passive voice, and excessive verbiage.

  a little after 9. pm this evening, a gunman entered hasting a book store and shot 5 people with a shotgun, he then left went to a street and at last report killed himself.

  he had earlier shot and killed a doorman at a place called "tobys" and may have wounded another person there prior to going to hasting and shooting the five people lthere, no reports of how the people at hastings have fared..

  And what of those who only watch say, the food channel or hgtv? Hopefully some lunatic will attack my house and add a pergola out back!

  The truth is that people are more apt to be primed to attack their companion(s) because of all the hate filled internet forums featuring political, religious and financial chitter-chatter. Now that stuff REALLY gets people going.
